About Us:
Isador Lazar (1888 -1397), entered the scrap metal and bottle hauling industry in 1909, establishing himself in Oakland, CA. His commitment to recycling laid the foundation for what would become A1 Recycling & Lakeside Non-Ferrous Metals. Today, his great-grandson, Lance Finkel, a 4th generation scrap metal dealer, proudly carries on that legacy as the company's owner.
Pictured here is one of the horses owned by Isador Lazar in 1909, a vital asset in his early scrap and hauling business, a contribution to the war time effort, and a symbol of the hard work that built the family legacy we look to continue.
