Our company roots date back to 1909, when Isador Lazar immigrated to the Bay Area and began collecting scrap metal using a horse and wagon. Today, the company is proudly led by Lance Finkel—a fourth-generation scrap metal buyer and direct descendant of Lazar.
Lance succeeded his father, Lester Finkel, in leading Lakeside Non-Ferrous Metals, and later expanded the business by acquiring A1 Recycling Company. Lakeside Metals itself was originally founded by Morrie Kantor, a second-generation scrap metal buyer and fellow descendant of Lazar.
As we look to the future, we remain deeply committed to honoring our proud family legacy and upholding a long-standing tradition of excellence in the scrap metal industry. We are proud to be a family owned business since 1936.
